On Friday May 15th we released “Una Pizza Bike Show”- a short film, documenting legendary Pizza Chef, Anthony Mangieri of Una Pizza Napoletana in San Francisco.
This short 10-minute documentary film about Mangieri and his hand-made approach to pizza, life, jazz, and bicycling has been in the works since December 2014. It follows his story about the pizzeria and how it came to fruition upon discovering his love for all things Neapolitan and growing upon his family heritage as well as his love of cycling.
“Anthony Mangieri was always at the top of my list of chefs to shoot a story about due to his die-hard approach as a purist with a no compromise attitude, strong personality and deep rooted belief system that stands out loud against his tattoos and hard image,” says fillmmaker Wilson McCourtney.
The making of this short film came about last December when Mangieri teamed up with handmade steel frame bicycle builder Sean Walling of Soulcraft Bicycles to host their semi-annual “Una Pizza Bike Show” at Una Pizza Napoletana in San Francisco on the corner of 11th and Howard.
